Clean Slate is a campaign to automate Illinois' records sealing and expungement process.

Records relief:

• leads to a  20% Increase in wages
• Reduces recidivism
• Expands access to second chances
• opens the workforce to 2.2 Million hardworking Illinoisans
• restores over 4.7 Billions in lost wages to the IL economy each year

Since 2017, the petition-based records relief system has recovered an average of $122 M each year in lost wages, but this process is slow. Moving all currently eligible Illinoisans through the petition process would take 154 years, not including all the records that would be created during that time. That's why we need to automate this system.
